Isabelle's Birthday Party

Posing for photos before the guests arrive.
We had a birthday party for Isabelle today since we were away in Edmonton during her actual birthday. I was hoping that the weather was going to be nice so we could have it in the park but it rained today so we had it in our condo social room. It turned out to be better that way so we wouldn't have to take all the party supplies with us to the park. Thank you to everyone who could make it and for all the wonderful gifts. I think Isabelle had a blast!! Happy 2nd Birthday Momomunchkin!!
Making her silly face...I didn't even ask her to make it.
Another silly face.
The "Dora the Explorer" birthday cupcake cake.
The kids did some finger painting...I think they had fun making a mess.
Isabelle opening gifts and Cassie standing close by to help.
"Ooooh...a Dora pillow with a star and star pocket!!"
"What's in this one?"
The girls playing together with the new toys.

Soccer Monster!!

This was the day following the wedding and Isabelle wanted to run around outside and kick her beach ball. She loves kicking the ball and she's getting pretty good at it. If anyone has ever seen the kids show, The Backyardigans, there is an episode called "The Soccer Monster." This just reminds me of it because she just couldn't get enough.

No, I don't have a soccer ball stuffed under my shirt!

Wedding Day

Uncle Ed waiting patiently for his beautiful bride to walk down the aisle.

The main reason for our trip out to Edmonton was to attend Uncle Ed (Daddy's younger brother) and Auntie Sara's wedding. Isabelle was the flower girl so she had a big part in the wedding. :o) We are so happy for both of them and wish them all the best in their new life together!

Isabelle the flower girl. Daddy was at the back with her and told her to take the flowers to Mommy. She walked down the huge aisle with over 100 people staring at her saying, "Flowers to Mommy!" She did a really great job and brought them right to me. I was too emotional with tears in my eyes so this is the only photo I managed to capture. LOL!
The Ceremony.
Isabelle after her big debut, playing with Grandma's keys to stay busy during the ceremony.
Another happy Mr. & Mrs. Pickell. :o)
Isabelle and Daddy at the family photo shoot. Don't worry, she didn't wear those funny sunglasses during photos.

Isabelle had such a busy day and with the wedding ceremony running right through her nap time, she crashed after having dinner. She slept for a good hour and a half even with all the noise around her and then woke up in time for all the dancing.
Cutting the wedding cake with Grandpa's sword. A tradition that started at Auntie Kristine's wedding and we did it at ours too.

Strange Sign

This sign was in the area where we stayed in Edmonton. I've never seen a sign like this before but thought it might be interesting to have a picture of it.

West Edmonton Mall

A trip to Edmonton is not complete without a trip to West Edmonton Mall, so we decided to take Isabelle there so she could see all the different displays.
Sitting inside a big whale's mouth.
The Pirate ship display.
Showing off her new "fashion" sunglasses since she lost her other sunglasses at a rest stop on our way to Edmonton. These sunglasses only protect 70/30 UVA/UVB rays so we call them her "fashion" sunglasses.
Watching the dry ice flow out of her "Erupting Volcano" ice cream dessert that came with her lunch meal.

Isabelle's 2nd Birthday!

Isabelle spent her birthday in Edmonton this year. Here she is opening her birthday gift from Grandma and Grandpa and giving her cheesy smile for Grandma's camera.

On The Way To Edmonton

Isabelle enjoying the DVD player in the van.
Having her afternoon nap...one minute she was watching DVD's and the next she was like this.
Taking a little break to stretch our legs at the Coquihalla Toll Booth.

Berry Picking

We drove out to Langley today to meet up with Miss S and her family at a berry farm. It was the last day for berry picking so there wasn't very much left but we still managed to get 2 lbs of raspberries. There were currants too but we decided not to get any (I'm not sure what to do with them). Isabelle had a lot of fun picking and putting the raspberries in her bucket. Next year we'll have to go earlier in the season to get strawberries and blueberries. Thanks for inviting us!!
